The massive destruction and displacement currently being experienced by the Palestinian people is causing a mounting humanitarian crisis. With tens of thousands of families displaced by aerial bombardments, scores of people killed and injured, hundreds of homes and buildings destroyed, and essential supplies in short supply, this is a crisis we cannot turn away from.

 

At least 77,000 people internally displaced

 

At least 278 Palestinians have died, including 66 children and 39 women

 

At least 9,000 Palestinians have been injured

 

At least 678 homes severely damaged

 

At least 230 buildings destroyed

 

58 schools are sheltering the homeless

 

25,000 people have restricted access to water

 

At least 11 health facilities damaged

 

We Can’t Raise The Dead, But We Can Help The Living Thrive

 

The death, destruction and suffering being lived through by the people will not be halted with a ceasefire – it will take years to rectify the damage. On top of the human cost of those killed or injured in the fighting, homes, businesses, and infrastructure have been destroyed, and a healthcare system already creaking with the burden of COVID-19 is now struggling to meet the needs of the victims of conflict.
